Long time no blog, I am so sorry, been hectic here, let me get you caught up.

 

So in February I turned 25! Can you believe it? Well I can’t. We as friends held a combined birthday party since 2 of us have the same birth date and the one a week later. So what do a bunch of young adults do for a themed party? Easy we love Harry Potter, so thanks to Pintrest for a bunch of inspiration and weeks of planning we had our party. I'm 24!

Birthday update

Good morning all!

I just realised I never shared my birthday with you, well it happened, I am now 24, not as scary as I thought, so far....

So on Friday night we went to my favourite restaurant, Ocean Basket and had platters, which we love since then you can have a little bit of everything, some prawns, crab sticks, fish and chips, totally love it. I enjoyed everything and we had Mc Flurry’s for dessert from Mc D’s.

On Saturday morning we went to the Farmers market and bought yummy fruit and gerber daisies which are my favourite. Afterwards we went out for breakfast and then just walked around. The best morning, we then went home to bake some cupcakes, as boyfriend was coming over for dinner to meet the parents, well mostly just to meet Dad, since boyfriend already met Mom a couple of weeks ago, you might remember the Cricket we went to, well Mom met him then.

So when he arrived we swam and had a great braai and just chatted until midnight, I think my tip of him talking about farming worked, my dad couldn’t stop talking about him afterwards. On Sunday we made a big lunch for the family who came to visit and another cake, totally love that cake, will put the recipe up one day.

Unfortunately since my camera is still in for repairs there was no photos, I don’t always remember about my phone having a camera so then I don’t take photo’s sorry guys.

Pre-Birthday post

Eve of my 24^th Birthday

So it’s the eve of my 24^th birthday, and I have just realised the blog has had 100 views! Thank you to all that have viewed the blog. So the plans for the weekend are a movie tonight, Boyfriend and I are going to go watch Jack and Jill tonight, I really hope it’s worth it.

Tomorrow on my birthday, we are going to the Boeremark (Farmers market) and since it’s my first off weekend in a while, I plan to enjoy it. Afterwards a braai, with maybe some swimming later. On Sunday the family will arrive and we will have a nice Sunday lunch, can’t wait for the weekend to kick off.

So on the 14^th of January my sister turned 21, the big 21. It was on the Saturday, so we decided to celebrate we would just go out as a family on the Friday and have fish and chips at one of the best seafood restaurants in the country. We always enjoy our fish and chips, but I must admit the platter for two with an assortment of seafood dishes on is still our al time favourite.

Just one thing to remember, Annien never wakes up before 8 on Saturdays, holidays and we struggle during the week to get her out of bed. So to our surprise that morning she was awake at 5:45! This ruined all our plans.

We planned on blowing up balloons and putting up banners in her room before she woke up. Needless to say, my mom had to send her back to bed, and our late Saturday morning was spoiled. So we got up and starting blowing up 21 big balloons, getting out the banner and setting everything up. We finally woke her up at 6:30. And she was really surprised.

 

My mom got her a pearl necklace, Annien is an old soul at heart and she just totally loved it. Now just to clarify its not one of those that has a bazillion pearls on a string, it is a beautiful fine gold chain with a pearl. She loves it and hasn’t stopped wearing it. I got her a great watch from American Swiss, if I didn’t get it for her, I would most likely have bought it for myself. That is one thing about us, we are not those girls who go out shoe shopping, we go out and stare at watches all day long if we can. We just adore watches.

I went to work for the morning, and when I got home we started setting up and prepping food for our guests who would arrive for a braai and some cake.

This turned out to be one of the best birthday get together we had in a long time

I wish you all the best for your future, you are now a young lady and the best sister a girl can ask for. You always know when to cheer me up, you hold my hand when I am in pain, you laugh at my jokes and listen to all my stories. I love you so much
