Christmas Decorations

Christmas Decoration Time

As I mentioned previously, I am a total sucker when it comes to Christmas decor, we usually have a small Christmas tree, one of those 90cm models that is hip high and you don’t need lots of decorations for it. Well last year it started to fall apart so on one of the specials at our local supermarket after Christmas, I bought another one on a huge special, we threw it in the closet since Christmas was already over and everyone was packing away all there decorations. Over the weekend while my parents were away I thought I will get our decorations up in hope of surprising them when they got back.

I started with our entry way, we have a wreath that always hangs over the door, but since it’s summer the door is always open and you don’t see the wreath, so I hanged it over the mirror, you might recognise the mirror from a previous blog. Our display cabinet is the perfect place for decorations so I threw all the telephones and post holders to the side (new home for them to be decided) and put all these things on there. The wreath with the candles will be lit on Sundays until Christmas, this Sunday we are at candle number 3.

And the lastly, the Christmas tree, remember how I mentioned we always have a small Christmas tree? Well I took out my brand new tree in a very small box, not noticing the manufacture sticker...

When I opened the box, the tree was in pieces and after assembly the tree was a whopping 1,8m tall! That’s twice the size of our normal tree, needless to say our decoration bubbles were not enough and I had to run to the store to get new ones, luckily I bought tree lights that usually wrapped a bunch of times around our small tree.

Sorry about the power cables and the dvd holder :) didn't think to clean before taking pics

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

All our windows were snow sprayed since we have summer here

I have these two signs outside our front door

Fouriesburg Weekend

Fouriesburg weekend

As promised here is a update on our weekend, it’s wonderful there you can just sit around look at the majestic mountains and feel God’s present, every time we go there I just once again realise that by seeing these mountains there is no way you cannot believe in Him.

We left Friday afternoon, we wanted to leave earlier but my mom needs her passport renewed for next year and I decided my sister and I should also renew our passports, after standing in the queue for what seems hours, the person behind the desk informs us in this sour face that my sister and mine is still valid and how dare we come apply for a new one, so sorry we forgot we applied for new passports, silly us. Anyway when we got home and after a long search, we found the passports and saw that indeed ours is still valid.

Anyway back to the weekend, so we got on the road just after lunch and we only arrived at 6, and this is normally a 2 hour drive. The road works on the road was incredible, we stood in queue’s containing up to 50 cars, it was madness, and we thought we will miss the Friday rush. WRONG!!!!

It was still worth every hour in those queues, the valleys and mountains were not as green as previous years, but there were smudges of green everywhere.

I will let some of the photo’s do the talking.

We over indulged on cherries and had lots of peaches.

On Saturday we spend the day in Clarens, and just looked at art, and ate a lot.

Long Time no Blog

Long Time No Blog

Hey all, so it’s been a long time since I blogged and I do apologise...

Well this past couple of weeks has been very busy. At work everyone is getting their pc ready for the holidays since the school holidays starts in 1 week. That means that everyone is heading out to the ocean side to enjoy a well deserved summer holiday/Christmas holiday.

My parents are having their 25 year anniversary at the beginning of December and they have decided to go on holiday for that time. They will be stopping over in Beaufort West which is halfway from Bloemfontein to Cape Town. Then they will spend a couple of days in Cape Town. *I’m so jealous! I love Cape Town* They will then head out to Nature’s Valley and from there they are going to Hogsback. All these places are really lovely and I’m sure they will enjoy it a lot.

Mom bought a new camera yesterday so this means this time we might get some great pictures of their holiday.

This weekend we are going to Fouriesburg for my mom’s birthday on Sunday, can’t wait, will post some photos next week. Fouriesburg is really very lovely and the sites are awesome. Most people forget about this little jewel in the heart of the Eastern Freestate.

Next week will also mark the 7 year anniversary of my grandmothers passing, not looking forward to it since this will be the first year that my mom won’t be there to stop the tears flowing...

Well I’m wishing all my US friends a Happy Thanksgiving!

Monday

Monday

Good morning all,

As promised here are a picture preview of my wreath project, I took a grape vein wreath, and wrapped it with an old denim when I was done I realised it look very dull so I took some denim and started making flowers but they just looked stupid. My sister is a second year education student and she had a big project where they had to make hand puppets and she used felt and there was still a lot left over, so I took some scraps and cut out circles. I then cut the circles into strips and then rolled it up, as you might see some of these look really nice and others sort of looks sloppy, but first timer here, so I think it turned out good, and it looks like a summer wreath, next project will be getting ready for Christmas, I have a bazillion ideas running through my head.

In other news it was a really quiet weekend, I also decided that I want to go visit my uncle in England next year, so I definitely have to start saving some money and my passport needs to be in order.

So I will leave you with another picture, until next time

TGIF

Thank goodness it’s Friday

Good morning all!
I’m quickly grabbing a moment to update you guys, this has been an eventful week indeed.

I have had my first date like almost ever, don’t get me wrong I had a boyfriend or two in college but since we went to classes together and sometimes hung out afterwards it was never a big thing to go out especially to get to know each other. So this week there was a guy and asked me out, and I went. The only problem for me was this guys age, you see I am 23 almost 24 and he is 36! 13 years is a big deal in my book, so we will see how it goes. Afterwards I got invited to another one, but unfortunately had plans.

So at work we were really busy, as you might know I studied IT and I also did programming and then a lot of how you plan and execute the programs, now either these people just don’t do what they are taught but how do you roll-out a program containing so many bugs to half the countries brokers, really weird, but it keeps our days filled with new and exciting things to doJ

The other thing is since in South Africa the next big holiday is Christmas thus the shops are already decorated in their Christmas finery, which I don’t mind, I love Christmas it’s my favourite holiday. I love the decorations, the spirit of giving (I always go way over board on buying Christmas gifts) and the fact that our Lord was born as a human to die for our sins. The only bad thing about already decorating now, it’s a whole 2 months before the fact, I sometimes wish I wasn’t in South Africa, I bet in America they are all decked out in Halloween decorations until Sunday and then it’s probably going to be decorated for Thanksgiving. So no Christmas decorations until December and that is how it should be.

I have made a denim wreath which I saw on http://pinterest.com/pin/232117877/, I am almost done with it, since the felt flowers are taking a lot of time, Photos will be posted soon, mine looks different from the one showed in the link, I saw a tutorial on how to make flowers from felt, so testing that.

Well have a fantastic weekend, I am going to go to my High school’s Christmas market (I know I just complained but it’s only this week, since end of year exams start after the market) anyway, goodbye for now.

His Grace

His Grace

Hey sorry for being so absent these last couple of days, it’s been hectic at work and just life in general. As you all know I am currently looking for a more permanent position, I have been working at my current job as a contractor and being a girl I would like more stability in my life, I am searching for a permanent appointment, but all things will come in their own time, the right job will come.

Another thing you might remember is that I have a chronic disease Osteitis(Excuse the spelling, I’m not a doctorJ),  and this last week or so I met someone who told me that I should consider renewing my faith since it’s a punishment from God? Just get one thing straight, I am a Christian, I believe in God. The one thing that most people don’t understand is to me this isn’t a punishment, this is God’s way of reminding me, that I should not wander of the path, and that I should trust Him, other people might not see it from my point of view, but if you suffer from the same illness for so long (almost 15 years) you don’t want to just sit on a heap and feel sorry for yourself, there are people with much worse in their life, and my disease isn’t life threatening. So to those who think I should consider my position with God or whatever you might call it, just know you don’t have to worry about me, I’m happy and totally not depressed, the Lord cares for me and looks after me.

So back to everyday life, this weekend I still haven’t gotten round to actually doing any of my DIY projects I have been lining up, and it gets frustrating since I really want to do them but just don’t get the time through the day over weekends.

Saturday evening, my friends and I went to the local mall and wanted to do the whole safari dinner thing. Going from stand to stand, get some of our favourites and then get a nice spot and eat, needless to say it didn’t quite go according to planJ we ended up eating crumbed mushrooms, which we all love and the best spring rolls in town at Red Pepper, after feeling so stuffed we thought about walking around to make space and ended up in the book shop, all of us adore books, and the best thing is when you want a book, one of the others usually has that book in their collection. LOVE it!! Anyway so we found a couple of books and thought a nice cup of coffee will be great at that moment, we didn’t just get any cup of coffee we each had a cafe mocha, which has chocolate mousse and vanilla cream in, totally fattening and we all felt like dying afterwardsJ

Got a recipe here that I downloaded, totally going to try it:

Cafe mocha is a combination of espresso and chocolate, typically served in a tall, glass mug. This coffee-and-chocolate combination can also be found in desserts, icings, candy and dessert sauces.

Edit Ingredients

  • Fresh, cold milk
  • Freshly ground coffee
  • Water
  • Drinking chocolate

Edit Steps

Heat the water:

·         Different models may vary, but make sure you pour enough water into the tank of the machine so that the pump pipes are fully submerged. Turn on the power and the pump to pump water into the boiler.

·         Turn on the boiler to heat the water. The handle that holds the coffee is called the group handle and this should be locked into the machine. The light on the machine will go out when the water is at the correct temperature.

·         Turn off the boiler and press the dosage button to let water flow through the handle for about 10 seconds. This will clean it through and heat it to the same temperature as the water.

·         Add the chocolate. Put a teaspoon of chocolate powder or 1oz chocolate syrup in the bottom of a coffee cup.
·         Add the coffee. Put the correct amount of coffee (see Tips) in the filter basket and tap it to create a level surface. Use the tamper provided to compact the coffee. This will ensure the water doesn't flow through it too fast.
·         Filter. Lock the group handle into the machine and put the coffee cup underneath. Turn on the dosage button. The coffee should take 14-18 seconds to filter through for a single espresso and 20-25 seconds for a double, after which you should turn off the dosage button. If it is filtering through too fast, add a bit more coffee and compact it more firmly. If you are grinding your own coffee beans, grind them more finely.
·         Steam the milk. Milk can be steamed using the steam arm on your coffee machine. Turn the arm on full for 5 seconds before inserting it into the milk, as this will clean it through. If you want a frothy, cappuccino-style topping, insert the arm into the jug of milk so that the tip is just below the surface. If you want a smoother, café latte-style topping, position the arm so it goes down the side and to the bottom of the jug. Turn it back on full and wait a few moments until the sides of the jug are hot enough to be uncomfortable to the touch. Turn off and take the jug away. Wipe the steam arm and turn it on to clean it through once more.
·         Add the milk. Tap the jug on a work surface and swirl the milk around to create a shiny surface with the consistency of thick custard. Carefully pour the milk on top of the chocolate espresso mixture and serve.

I know we don’t all have these fancy machines, but I’m going to try it on our coffee machine, will take pictures as I go and let you guys know how I did, So have a great day, Chant soon

Random Thoughts

Random Thoughts

Good morning all!

So this morning I have a few thoughts to share and yes it may seem random but come on, I’m a girl and deserve to blow of some steam every now and then.

First of all; my gran is going back home today after a few weeks staying with us, we always love this time with her, especially when it’s so long since she last stayed with us, and I mean she lives about 80km away from us, but it’s always such a battle to just get her to visit, this makes me sad because one day my job can move me to another part of the country and then it isn’t just 80km then we are speaking of 1000! So I try to spend as much time with her as we can. I have always had a very special place in my heart for this gran.

So yesterday when we got home, my gran’s eyes were as big as saucers, there was two young men in our yard trying to break into the house, now first things first they probably thought no one is home, and my gran kept her cool and didn’t freak out, when she got to one of the bedrooms she saw this person trying to open the window from the outside, she just yelled at them “What do you think you are doing!” and the little scamp ran off. Now I’m asking you since she thinks they are no older than 15, why weren’t they in school? Anyhow, this could have ended badly since we read so much about old people being murdered by the most gruesome ways in South Africa we are just so happy that they ran away and didn’t still force their way in. Another point of interest is please don’t rely on your massive dog to actually scare these people off; ours ran to where she thought my gran usually is and stood guard there! Good dog!

The best part was when my mom phoned the police office in the afternoon, she just wanted peace of mind, and asked the police officer if they can please send someone to the house, just to look around, see if they can see any markers (there is some gangs who place markers out so other people know what’s going on around the house, usually leaves placed in a certain way, or coloured objects symbolising certain things) anyway, this lady who is part of the police force, who is supposed to protect us, told my mom straight out, if no one was killed or nothing was stolen they won’t (WON’T!?!) send anyone out, I mean come on. This lady just said it’s the homeowners’ responsibility to protect themselves!!! What more can one do? You have a burglar alarm, a humongous dog, and still they get in. I can’t believe we have come to this point.

Then in further news, our Rugby team (the Springboks) got knocked out of the Rugby World cup in New Zealand L how sad, they did a great job, and I am not going to blame it all on the referee, although I feel it’s mostly his fault, they didn’t take advantage of each opportunity to score tries so, it is kind of their fault as well, but still the referee wasn’t objective, and for those who don’t know, South Africa went to the quarter finals and played Australia, the ref was from New Zealand, totally not objective.

Well anyway, I have bored you enough today with my little blowing off of steam, Have a fantastic dayJ

Monday Rantings

Monday Ranting

Good afternoon all!

So this week I am on a mission, since my contract at work expires at the end of December it is probably time that I start searching again for other options, although I hate the thought of having to leave here since I like it so much, but unfortunately they have informed us that contracts won’t be extended again. It was a good run, since when I started working here I had a three month contract and that was a year ago.

We had a wonderful weekend, my dad went to Swartriggens for his high school reunion, my mom would have gone with him, but she didn’t want to go with so she ended staying which was wonderful. Since I could hardly walk from my operation the previous week I had the weekend off from my weekend job, so for the first time in a while I could just spend the time with my mom. We never made any food; we lived on take-out, and eating out. I just loved spending the time with her. For those who haven’t realised yet, I’m a real mommy’s girl, the day I have to move out will be heart breaking, and I don’t think she or I will survive without each other. But I guess most young woman feel like that when the daunting thought of moving on comes up.

I still haven’t tested any of my ideas from www.pinterst.com, since I can’t find most of the supplies needed. How hard can it be to supply wreaths people, I mean Christmas is around the corner and you’re not going to wait until the day before Christmas to put up your wreaths, I didn’t think it will be so hard to find something, but most people just give you this blank stare which says: “Are you from Mars?!?” It’s really funny sometimes, but this weekend it was frustrating. Maybe I will get it when Eunice’s Christmas Market starts at the end of the month; they always have things like this. Check it out if you are in the Bloemfontein region around 28 October, it’s worth it. Just know tramping is inevitable. Most people do their Christmas shopping then, just as I plan on doing J

So tomorrow my group of friends are going to go watch the Smurf movie, It was my friend’s birthday over the weekend, since her boyfriend came to visit we decided to spoil her tomorrow, can’t wait to watch it, I used to love the Smurfs when I was little.

So I wish you all a wonderful rest of the week, our weather is really messed up the one minute it is really warm and the next we have hail storms with wind and rain. Really scary

Another Thursday

Another Thursday

Hey all, so sorry to not have been around for a while, I unfortunately spend a week in hospital; this is due to a chronic illness I have been suffering from since a little girl. But which does not kill you will only make you stronger.

So last week I started the week with pain in my leg due to Chronic Osteitis, sorry for the spelling but I am not a doctor, so I went to the doctor and he booked me into the hospital for the Wednesday, A lot had to be done between the Monday and the Wednesday, I had to get some summer pj’s and had to get myself another book, since I thought my book won’t last the couple of days. Since I wanted this book for so long, I started reading it immediately and totally forgot about the other oneJ, anyway I got everything together and organised everything at work, and on Wednesday was admitted to the hospital.

I visited the grumpy sleep fairy (that’s what they called him when I was small), the anaesthesiologist and he made me sleep and the doctor fixed the pain and so I spend the week in the hospital and just slept the whole time. So yesterday I got released from my sleepy state and got to go home. So spend the afternoon just getting everything paid that needs to be paid at the end of the month and getting ready for first day of work which is today.

So after catching up the whole morning, I have been stuck on www.pintrest.com again, this is my favourite site and I just seem to lose hours on it. My parents are out of town this weekend, and I scored an off weekend since I can’t stand the whole time, so who knows might actually get to do some of the things I have been pinning since I stumbled across it a few weeks ago.

Tomorrow our national team plays their match against Fiji in the World Cup so I am going to have to make sure my supporter t-shirt for tomorrow. Hopefully we win then we can go through to the next round.

Well that’s all folks.

DIY projects

Morning All

So yesterday I was browsing some of my favourite blogs and I came across this wonderful website filled to the brim with wonderful DIY ideas and as I am a 23 year old who at this moment is just sitting at home every single night not doing anything remarkable except keeping up with Super nanny and Grey’s Anatomy I thought I should attempt some projects to just keep me busy. If you want to check this site click on the link below and go check it out

Okay so I have a couple of ideas which I am going to be attempting to do (well we will see how far I getJ) Here are some pictures of the projects I tagged, there is also one which I am still looking for the plans, I have this old dresser in my room that I want to redo, my grandfather build it and it was in my room ever since I can remember, but we never actually gave it any attention so it took a beating, so now I want to make it look new again. I bought the sanding paper weeks ago and have been looking over DIY websites explaining how to go about doing this project. So now I finally feel ready to go at it. So this will be started tonight.

Since it is now spring I thought I might try this one

This one just screams summer,

This one might adorn our door for Christmas

This one is my all time favourite and will defnitely get a special place this festive season

So after work this afternoon I am of to some craft shops to find supplies and then I am going to start sanding the dresser, wish me luck.

Manic Monday

Manic Monday

Morning all! Hope everyone is doing absolutely fabulous, here is South Africa we are on our way to summer and it’s already very warm at about 27˚C, which is very warm for spring. Here it was a quiet week and weekend.

Since last Tuesday the following has happened...

My baby cousin started school in the UK, she is only 3 so it seems very weird for us here to think of her a school girl, in South Africa the kids go to pre-school which is mostly just art and play, I may be wrong but that’s what it mostly consists of. I checked her schedule; they have real classes such as French, English Lit, Math, art etc. That is a heavy load for a little person isn’t it? She is even wearing a school uniform! I wish her all the luck in her school career, love you lots little Princess

Since Friday everyone is going Rugby crazyJ the Rugby World Cup is in New Zealand and people are getting up early in the morning to watch matches, not even mentioning yesterday’s stunt where people skipped church to ensure they are home at 10:30 to watch the South Africa vs Wales game. By the way the Bokke won!!!! Go team. Anyway back to the fact that people are going bonkers over the rugby, we even had a guy at work that missed the whole morning Friday to watch the opening ceremony. Why I don’t know, it’s not like they have been repeating it on TV like a thousand times since Friday.

Yesterday after church we thought we will indulge our self’s in some shopping for my mom’s garden for summer. She has these pots on our porch which she fills every season with seasonal flowers so we had to get some for summer, was a lovely day and the weather was really nice, except for a horribly strong wind, not the best day to decide to wear a dress and loose hair me thinks J

So when we got home my parents went to visit my dad’s cousin and we didn’t know what to watch and while I was channel hopping I landed on History channels broadcast of the World Trade Centre plane crashes 10 years again. Living in South Africa and not having DSTV back then we only got the watered down version of the story and back then I was a primary school girl and didn’t really know what it all meant, just remember my uncle being in New York the week before that... I think, still have the postcard in my collection. Anyway, so yesterday we landed on this episode where they showed everything, from the planes crashing and the towers falling with real people filming and the response team radio broadcasting. It was such a big shock, it was like I watched it for the first time, the people who jumped from the windows, falling to their death, people running in the streets trying to avoid the smoke and ashes when the towers fell, My heart goes out to those families, I know everyone always say you will recover, life goes on, and yes it does, but people lost mom’s, dad’s, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, you don’t just forget something like that. My heart goes out to all those people who stayed behind, may your hearts be mended and one day the ache in your hearts dull. Our prayers are with you al still.

Have a wonderful week to all,

Tuesday Thunder

Tuesday Thunder

Hey all, so it’s already Tuesday and I totally forgot to let you know what happened this weekend. So here goes...

As always I worked on Saturday morning, which usually just sucks a bit, because I already work full days the rest of the week and I’m usually beat by the Saturdays, It’s a small material shop in my hometown, I have been working there since I started to study, and sometime I really enjoy it, and other times I wish I could be spending the time with my family instead of being there. But anyway after a long 4 hours I get to go home and fetch my sister and friend so we could go shopping for supplies for our pizza party that night.

I must admit we probably bought more things than we could actually put on the pizza’s and since it was our first time making the pizza’s ourselves, we weren’t really sure which topics would work well or which will be a total flop. So we ended getting ham, cheese, mushrooms (lots of mushrooms, we are all big mushroom fans), Salami and some deboned ribs. On our way home, I got the message that we could go and fetch my mom from the course she was attending for the day, it was a short course in sign language, I really wanted to attend it but since I work I could not attend. Needles to say I have been hounding my mom to teach me everything she learned. My mom is an Audiologist & Speech therapist, so it’s part of her job...

Okay back to our pizza building...

When we got home we started to knee the dough, so that it could have enough time to rise and make lots of pizza’s J I must say I made the big mistake of putting in enough water to make the recipe 4 times but we quickly rectified it with my friends brilliant mathematical mind. Must say we got more pizza’s out than we expected. I then also made our pudding which was a quick recipe, but it takes a long time to set. All you need for this quick pudding is a 2l ice cream tub, packed of Romany creams and a tin of caramel treat. You then let the ice cream melt enough to make it easy to stir something in, and then take ¾ of the tin of caramel treat and stir it into the ice cream. You then take the Romany creams and smash them into a pulp (works best if you’re in a bad mood and want to whack all your frustrations out) when the Romany creams are smashed you mix the rest of the caramel treat with them and then form a base in a biggish dish. You then pour the ice cream mix on top and then put it in the fridge. Best ice cream tart ever.

Anyway so our pizzas were a big success and we gobbled them all up in the one evening. We played wii, which was so much fun, my friend got an extra remote and now all of us can play at one time, needless to say that we were rolling around on the floor half of the time. We enjoyed it very much.

On Sunday we went to a friend of ours baby’s christening. The church was packed and we got stuck at the back of the church looking at a pillar instead of the christening. Would probably teach us to show up early to a christening in a popular church. Afterwards we went to my gran who lives in Edinburg which is about 80 km away from Bloemfontein. And due to construction on the highway which has a waiting period of 20 minutes per stop we had to take a detour road. Our poor poor car got so shaken I don’t think it will ever recover. There were so many potholes on this one road, it was unbelievable. If you dodged the one you promptly fell into the other. Not nice L Thank God we made it there in one piece and had a wonderful day, just chilling with my gran spending time with her. Thank you so much granny. Love you lots.

Well so the new week started yesterday and so also our resolution to start the battle of the bulge, our fight started with a 5 o’clock Zumba session. I can really recommend this, after being breathless we just kept going and enjoyed it immensely, so much giggling so early in the morning is really good for you J you should really check it out.

And today we are going for a long walk, with our new shoes which I got on a special at Reebok for R200 which is a big difference from R1000 I think. I just love a bargain.

Well I wish you all a wonderful rest of the week. Chat soon

Happy Spring

Happy Spring

Happy spring to everyone out there!! I hope you all have had a wonderful day, Our garden has sprung to life almost overnight with blossoms covering every fruit tree and small extra green leaves sprouting from the trees, it’s always so fascinating for me to see how everything goes from dead to alive in almost a day. Even the grass has this special green shine to it, everything looks so new. I guess that is what makes spring so special for me, that green is not the same the rest of the seasons. I must say we have gone from almost ice cold weather to scorching hot, so the doctors in Bloemfontein will make lots of money this season, people have been wearing shorts in winter and scarves and jackets in summer,

My friends and I spend our lunch today in a local party shop, we didn’t think it through properly before going because tomorrow is Casual Day and it’s a rocker theme, so everyone and more was in that shop getting their outfits for tomorrow, I am still undecided but I have bought my special sticker so still have some time to think about something to wear J Well back to the reason why we went there, my one friends boyfriend is graduating in about 2weeks and she really wants to make it special since his parents aren’t going to be there. So we bought little things to put into a cracker, and cup cake decorations, etc. She is going to spoil him so much, but how many times does one get ones doctorate degree?

I can’t wait for the weekend we have been planning a pizza party for a while now and it has finally come to the weekend to actually hold it. We are going to be building our own pizza’s not the store bought kind that everyone pays way too much for, and honestly my mom’s homemade pizza’s are easily way better than the store bought kind. We even make our own dough, and since it is so warm outside we can probably eat it outside.

Well that’s all for today, I hope everyone enjoys their Spring day, and for those who aren’t in this part of the world where it’s autumn. Enjoy it...

South African National Anthem

I know I just posted like a couple of minutes ago but this just shocked me. There has been a lot of joking going around lately since a certain member of a rock band sang the South African national anthem so poorly, and I am sorry to criticise but it was really inappropriate, I shall not give his name, but most people will immediately know who I am speaking of. This guy performed at the announcement of the national Rugby team who will be representing us in the World Cup in September, so the whole country/worlds eyes were on this and he goes and destroys the song in less than 30 seconds and starts laughing about it...even though it’s not a laughing matter.

So my thought here is to put the words on my blog and people can look at it and learn it. It has the English translation next to it, so you can understand the other languages. It is really a beautiful song.

Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika

Nkosi sikelel' iAfrika

God bless us, her children

From the blue of our heaven,
From the depth of our sea,
Over our everlasting mountains,
Where the echoing cliffs resound,
Sounds the call to come together,
And united we shall stand,
Let us live and strive for freedom
In South Africa our land.
